One thing I can never fault Alexandra on are her impeccable cooking skills. I honestly believe that if you gave her the most rotten food to cook with, she could still manage to make it palatable. One time at my house, she made brownies with eggs, shortening, milk, sugar, and cocoa puffs [you read that right, that cereal!] and they were better than the brownies you buy at those expensive New York bakeries. She's that good!

Anyway, a few days ago I flew in to New York to get away from the grind of Berkeley, and the first thing I did was call her up. She was so ecstatic about my visit that she told me to go to her apartment so she could feed me. Fast forward a handful of hours later, and I'm laying down on her futon, giggling like Homer Simpson while munching on a costco sized bag of Doritos. Before Alexandra even got home!

How did that come about?

When I got to her place, the first thing I saw was an enourmous plate of warm cookies. I ate them. Then I ate some more. Then another. It went on for a half hour before I was full. Fifteen minutes later, I was at the plate again. Those cookies were amazing, but a thought pushed itself through all that munching down :

"Why am I giggling hysterically while eating? And shouldn't I stop eating these when I'm already full?"

I sat up to stop eating, but this feeling of lightheadedness got me. It was like the sort of lightheadedness you usually get when you take too many glasses of wine. Alexandra came in shortly after, and caught me laying on the couch, with the bag of Doritos. She asked if I was tired, then told me to take a nap if I wanted to. I said I couldn't, and then she asked if I was on medication. I said no, then she had a look of worry, and offered some coffee. I finally said yes, and she went to the kitchen.

She went to the kitchen and turned on the light. She then noticed the half empty plate of cookies, and asked if I ate them. After I replied with a slurred yes [the slurring of my voice led her to think I was on medication or jet lagged at first], she had the hugest smile on her face. She called up [info]misterdoodyhead and in between her raucous laughter, she said to him:

"You're not going to believe this. Sophia just ate half of those special cookies!"

You could hear the laughter on the phone, loud and clear. Derek came by half an hour later, and stayed sober just to laugh at me. >_____<

On the bright side, at least now I know why potheads eat so much junk food. My tongue never felt so dry! >_____

For breakfast and lunch, I helped myself to a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Honey Comb, and Cooooookie Crisp. SO GOOD! I know that it's not healthy, but I can deal with it for a few more days. The reason I'm eating non-cooked foods is because I'm digitally developing wedding photos I took with Derek last week. I've been on this computer for 6 hours now, but they're almost finito. To help time pass, I was checking these shirts out:

I might get them as soon as I'm finished working. After that, salsa dancing!

8:11PM

It's good to be back in Brooklyn. Last week, I went to upstate New York to visit my cousins. I didn't stay very long [my auntie's house was full with other annoying guests] but I did have lots of fun. My cousin Amy has a boyfriend! She's so young too [14 yrs] but she looks older. On my stay, my uncle took us out for dimsum - for lunch AND[!] din-din! I haven't had so many steamed spare ribs and steamed pork balls since my 12th birthday.

After I left their place [they didn't know I was still going to be in upstate NY, just not with them], I took up a part time job as a wedding photographer. Me and Derek teamed up and took photos of a client's wedding. So much fun, but so foot killing! Their reception was huge, you could have fit a football field on where they had it. If I ever shoot a wedding that big, I will never ever wear heels again!

When we finished that job, I still had other things to do upstate. I had to resend my grad school applications so they would know that I had a change of address. I had to call up my mom and dad so they knew I was doing okay [which is hard with bad cell phone service in NY]. I had to catch up with an old friend, because it has been too long since we were last together. I had to go job hunting online. There's more, but I'm so discombobulated that I'm squinting at this monitor just to find the words I'm typing.

Did I mention it's good to be back in Brooklyn? I will again, because it's good to be home.

PS. We're here to repossess your food...and THEN SOME!

Dearest anonymous misterdoodicus,

My EC project is going along fine. I'm pretty sure it will be done by next week. I tried your wet towel solution, and it helped alot. Thank you! However, when I left my tap on without knowing it. EEP! I think my utility bill this month might be sky-rocket-at-full-blast-high. I'm good on financial aid though, hooray!

I got the copy of Hero a few days ago...thank you! Thanks for your birthday card, Bert's going to love it! But next time, remind me to bap you over the head for buying a perverted one! If you check your paypal, I reimbursed you for it + 2 dollars for your taro buns. [that's a neccessity I will not let you return to me] I tried out a few cameras at the Best Buy in Fresno, and so far I don't like the laggies. I think I might join you in the d-slr path and get the rebel! We can swap lenses, right? Right? Right? *tap tap tap* :-)

In new news, I have another paper that I'm working on. It's on Flannery O' Connors themes of violence as a catharsis in her short stories. The mandatory page length is 5-7, I'm going to start out to 8-9 and edit it down after. Sally dropped the class, so there's one less person in my group project. It doesn't mean much, I'm doing most of the work anyways! I bought another alarm clock to put in my bathroom. It's really loud! It's helped me get to class less late [but I'm still in "EEP!" zone when I go to school]

My phone service will be restored soon, hopefully. My dad told me he'll get me another screen name for AOL.

So, how did your day go? Are you looking forward to classes? Are you still going to the other college when you finish? I hope you have fun tomorrow night at Keller's show. Tell me in as much detail as you would to me in person. And show me more pictures, I miss New York!

I kissed my palm and put it on the pic you showed. I miss your cheeks resting in my palms. But spring break, baby! Spring break!

I miss you much and love you even more,
Anonymous lady.

PS. No book reading, capeesh?!

My plane ride back to New York was so bad! >_< I had to go to the bathroom, but this man was in there for more than half the ride! We thought his butt got sucked into the toilet when he flushed [which got lots of laughs, by the way].

When I got out of the plane, I didn't have to go anymore. So airplanes do do something to you!

Homework is not fun:

1)when it has to be done at the computers at the school library because your computer broke down
2)when one of those homeworks is a 20 page essay [!!!!!]
3)when you have perverts surfing porno sites near you [grrr...]
4)when you haven't eaten all day long :*-(
5)and when you find out the printers aren't working! EEP!

12:43PM

I woke up today to my "neighbors" yelling at my other "neighbors" for leaving their garbage can next to theirs earlier that morning. The screaming was so loud that you would think it could travel for 20 blocks! And all this time I thought the can was pushed by the wind [and I still think it was]. Anyways, I ran downstairs and had breakfast. My dad made rice and eggs. They were good!

:)

Part of these past few week have been weird.
-I got the date that someone promised me [*ahemJuly21stahem*] , but he had to chaperone himself because my auntie and uncle were around! ARGH!!!!!! We ended up not going to the UES because my uncle had to go see his boss, and wanted to take us along!
-New Years was sucky because I had to pack and move to the house next door for a day. A stinkin day! And because of that, I couldn't go to the city or to Brooklyn to hang out with my friends!
-Christmas? Family wanted to stay family, so I couldn't go see someone I wanted to go see that day! ARGH!!!!!
-I lost my keys when I got home from California! And since no one was around, I had to wait for 10 hours before they could get back to me!

>:-(
[me during our date]

On the other hand, it's also been really good.
-No school for a few more days [YES!]
-[brag mode=on]Guess who got a 3.9 average? Just guess! [/brag]
-I get to stay in the room next to the basement [it's so WARM!]
-I get to hang out with someone a few more days and play Super Smash Brothers!

Frown turning upside down!

5:26PM

- I woke up today to my mother on the phone. She was telling me to get ready for school, and that got me in a tizzy. I was ready to go, but then I realized that today was Saturday, and I have no school!

I called her back when I got back inside, and she was laughing hysterically. LAUGHING!

She got me good.

- Minutes after, a "telemarketer" called. Normally, I try to be a complete bitch to telemarketers. But it was Saturday and I had to put on my Saturday face [read : nice] so hopefully they won't be complete assholes and ruin my day. He tried selling me "perfume". Derek, FYI : I knew it was you when you mentioned "marijuana scented perfume"! You're so bad!

- Today, I'm going shopping for new fishies! I saw these cute guppies on sale [3 for 15!] at a petshop around my building. Later on I have lunch at Leslie's, homework, studying, and a phone call to a certain someone [remember, 12 on the dot!]

- The new livejournal skin is kind of impractical. I liked that sidebar! This new one just slows my surfing down. Just my two cents.

3:22PM

I woke up today, went to class, went bck home, and tried to check my email. My computer doesn't work now [eep!] So I go back to my school library to try to check my email. No luck, it was full. I waited an hour before [finally] someone leaves their chair.

The girl [or guy, and if he was a guy he should go drag] who sat here before me was looking at pornography websites! I tried closing the window. But when I did, another pop-up porn site came up [eep]! This went on for a few minutes, until one of the librarians passed by!

I don't want to tell you what happened. Needless to say, I might stick with this netcafe for now. I'm too mortified to go back to my school library!

Homework time. Hope you have a nice weekend!
[well, hopefully at least better than my day so far]
